Happy diwali

May your life be filled with colors of joy and may your soul enlighten the world  this diwali, may you live forever, may all the happiness in the world fall on your lap, etc.. this is how my day started i mean  i woke up to these messages.

I was certainly not in the festive mood as past few weeks have been really busy . for me it was just another day in my diary. as i got dressed and stepped into the cab, my colleague wished me 'hey happy diwali' i replied 'thanks happy deepavali( i am more used to deepavali over diwali) then other person in the cab wished me reluctantly, she was lost in her world with her IPOD on. another person was more than happy to wish me but he could not understand, why was i in my casuals? meanwhile the cab driver was distributing sweets and chocolates and racy songs with Kan+glish lyrics rocked us.

Around 11 we reached office and viola the building was decorated with flowers and lights, for a second it looked like a marriage hall! people dressed and embellished in ethnic wear and girls flaunting their curves in classic chic Saree! i was the'odd man out'..!

Now that it was no more an ordinary day as i thought, i think more than hundred people would have wished me from morning 11 till i logged out. towards the fag end of the day 'happy diwali' had become so annoying and totally meaningless. For instance, one of my team mate wished me thrice or even more.

When i  returned from my work(to be precise half an hour back) like every deepavali, i went upstairs to watch the night sky for crackers and rockets.( all i need is a ladder, and a pillow)but i ran out of luck as it is clouded. i cannot see any sparks flying up in the air except for depressing smoke and dark clouds. silver lining (did you say?)would be that this year i am blogging about it. so technically speaking   i am  still a part of deepavali..

For another 3 days i will be hearing 'happy diwali' i can still hear them, voices in my head.it is like himesh reshammiya's songs with  irritating tunes which will haunt you for weeks.
